About the Litigation Section
It is the mission of the DSBA’s Litigation Section to promote and advance the interests of attorneys and the judiciary in the litigation of civil matters, consistent with DSBA principles. The Section strives to: (i) enhance communication between the bench and the bar; (ii) promote the professional development and interests of its members; (iii) improve its members’ public service in advancing civil matters in this State; and (iv) to serve the community in which its members live and practice. Superior Court Bench and Bar Liaison Program:
Delaware’s Superior Court adopted a Bench and Bar Liaison Program on June 2, 2011. The program established two volunteer liaison positions in each county. One liaison will act in civil cases and the other in criminal cases. The liaisons serve at the pleasure of the Court and will act as intermediaries between Superior Court practitioners and the Resident Judge or appointed Liaison Judge for each county.
The liaisons serve as contacts to address issues between practitioners and the Court, continue the efficacious functioning of the Court, and to reinforce the collegiality that is a hallmark of the Delaware Bench and Bar.
Practitioners’ communications with the liaisons are confidential unless the practitioner agrees otherwise. Communications originating from the Court will be confidential among the practitioners involved.
