This seminar will delve into a critical issue that affects at least 28% of all lawyers, and possibly more unreported. A panel of experts will discuss how depression affects the requisite intent to do harm, how to recognize the signs of depression in yourself and colleagues, how to deal with it both personally and professionally, and how leaving this unchecked can lead to serious ethical issues.
Joining our panel will be Joseph Milowic III who is the Director of Well-Being and Of Counsel at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP in New York City. He is also a Founder of the Lawyers Depression Project (LDP), a grassroots project aimed at addressing depression and other mental health issues in the legal profession. In 2019, Mr. Milowic was selected by his peers as a New York Metro “Super Lawyer” in Intellectual Property. He was also selected as a Global Fellow by the Federal Circuit Bar Association in recognition of his “commitment to leadership and cooperation in the global legal community.”
